Achieving Success with 18 Oil and Gas Safety Awards 2024, PGN Records Over 500 Million Safe Work Hours
(Jakarta, 31/10/2024) – PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), as Pertamina's Gas Subholding, successfully received 18 Oil and Gas Safety Awards in 2024. This achievement reflects PGN's commitment to prioritizing workplace safety and maintaining safe work hours to the fullest extent, as evidenced by reaching over 500 million Safe Work Hours (SWH) as of April 2024.
The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), through the Directorate General of Oil and Gas, presented the awards to recognize the success and achievements of Production Sharing Contract Contractors (KKKS) and Oil and Gas Enterprises (BU) in implementing safe work hours and consistently committing to occupational safety management systems.
The awards were presented directly by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, Bahlil Lahadalia, accompanied by Acting Director General of Oil and Gas, Dadan Kusdiana, and other senior officials from the ESDM Ministry.
The 2024 Oil and Gas Safety Award Ceremony was held in person at the JS Luwansa Hotel in Jakarta on Monday (7/10/24) and was attended by various stakeholders from the ESDM Ministry, Pertamina Group, and other oil and gas companies. The awards were categorized into three:
- Patra Nirbhaya Karya for companies achieving safe work hours,
- Patra Karya Raksa for companies excelling in safety training and management, and
- Patra Prakarsa for individuals or groups significantly improving workplace safety.
“We are truly grateful for and appreciative of the 18 awards achieved through the dedication and collaboration of the PGN Group. These accolades validate the commitment, collaboration, and synergy of PGN Group as Pertamina's Gas Subholding in maintaining safety with zero lost work hours due to accidents. It also highlights our efforts to prioritize workplace safety and optimize comprehensive safety training,” said Harry Budi Sidharta, PGN’s Director of Infrastructure and Technology.
Awards and Recognitions
PGN Group received several awards, including:
- Patra Karya Raksa Tama: Achieved by PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk Sales and Operation Region (SOR) II, represented by Commercial Director Ratih Esti Prihatini, PT Pertamina Gas Technical Management, PT Transportasi Gas Indonesia, and PT Kalimantan Jawa Gas.
- Patra Nirbhaya Karya Utama Adinugraha I: Awarded to Operation and Maintenance Management (OMM) PGN for achieving over 21 million SWH from June 1, 2008, to August 31, 2024.
- Patra Nirbhaya Karya Utama Adinugraha III and Patra Karya Raksa: Secured by SOR II PGN for surpassing 48 million SWH from March 8, 2009, to August 31, 2024, alongside outstanding safety training efforts.
- Patra Nirbhaya Karya Utama: Presented to SOR III PGN for recording over 27 million SWH from January 21, 2005, to August 31, 2024.
Additional awards were also won by:
- PT Pertamina Gas Technical Management, PT Kalimantan Jawa Gas, PT Transportasi Gas Indonesia, and others for their achievements in exceeding safe work hour milestones and exemplary safety practices.
- Individual recognition was granted to Indra P. Sembiring, Director of Engineering & Operations at PT Pertamina Gas, through the Patra Prakarsa award.
Continuing Excellence in Safety
PGN’s Commercial Director, Ratih Esti Prihatini, emphasized the importance of operational areas contributing to safety milestones. “Achieving over 101 million SWH across SOR I, SOR II, SOR III, and OMM without work-related accidents underscores our dedication. This serves as a foundation and motivation for PGN Central and operational areas to continue fostering initiatives and synergy to ensure safe work environments. We aim to increase safe work hours annually and minimize workplace accidents to zero,” Ratih stated.
The recognition further motivates PGN to sustain its leadership in workplace safety while collaborating with stakeholders to advance safety standards in the oil and gas sector.
