PGN's ESG Score Soars to 20.2, Strong Commitment Towards Net Zero Emission

Jakarta – PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN),

a subsidiary of Pertamina Gas Subholding, successfully improved its ESG Risk Rating score to 20.2 in 2024, placing it in the “Medium Risk” category by Morningstar Sustainalytics. This marks a significant improvement from a score of 24.7 in 2023, demonstrating PGN’s strong commitment to sustainability.

“The improvement in our ESG Risk Rating score proves that sustainability is our strategic priority. We are optimistic about continuously delivering added value to stakeholders while supporting a greener future,” said Fajriyah Usman, Corporate Secretary of PGN, (January 17, 2025).

Throughout 2024, PGN successfully reduced carbon emissions by 29,722.54 tons CO2eq and recorded a 5% increase in energy efficiency compared to the previous year. Additionally, PGN’s ISO 14001 and ISO 45001-certified occupational health and safety management system recorded over 12 million safe working hours.

In the social aspect, PGN implemented the Desa Kaya and Desa Wisata programs, empowering local communities by increasing income opportunities and managing waste into eco-friendly products.

In governance, PGN enforces the “4 No’s” policy: No Bribery, No Kickback, No Gift, and No Luxurious Hospitality, ensuring business integrity in line with international standards. “We are committed to continuously improving our sustainability performance,” Fajriyah concluded.

This achievement positions PGN competitively among energy companies in the natural gas industry across Asia, contributing to the Net Zero Emission 2060 target.
