PGN Supplies 8,000 MMBTU/Month of Natural Gas to Mayora Indah, Expands Services in Pasuruan

Pasuruan – Subholding Gas Pertamina, PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN), continues to enhance its natural gas services to support clean energy utilization. PGN now supplies an average of 8,000 MMBTU/month of natural gas to PT Mayora Indah Tbk, which operates a manufacturing facility producing wafers and biscuits at Jl. Raya Pasuruan-Malang KM 25, Desa Bakalan, Kecamatan Purwosari, Pasuruan, East Java.

The gas supply agreement, governed by a Gas Sale and Purchase Agreement (PJBG), was signed between Heri Frastiono, Area Head of PGN Pasuruan, and Emroni Kurniawan, Senior Factory Manager of PT Mayora Indah Tbk. The agreed contract ensures a minimum monthly supply of 8,050 MMBTU and a maximum of 10,465 MMBTU under normal conditions.

“PGN hopes that our customers can experience the benefits of clean energy in improving industrial productivity and creating competitive products. We are optimistic that natural gas utilization will have a multiplier effect, stimulating economic activities in areas surrounding our customers. This aligns with PGN's mission to support the government's vision for clean, environmentally friendly energy and the goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2060 during the energy transition,” said Heri Frastiono, Area Head PGN Pasuruan, on January 16, 2024.

Heri expressed gratitude to Mayora Indah for choosing natural gas as its primary fuel source. He emphasized that the presence of a new plant in Purwosari could create job opportunities and boost economic growth in the Pasuruan area. PGN is committed to providing reliable and safe infrastructure to meet Mayora Indah's gas requirements.

The new Mayora Indah facility in Purwosari has integrated natural gas as its main energy source, designing all production equipment to operate using clean and environmentally friendly gas. This plant is Mayora Group’s latest addition in East Java.

PGN's Sales and Operations Region III Area Pasuruan currently supplies natural gas to various customers, including industrial, commercial, and residential sectors. Industrial customers span industries such as food, chemicals, ceramics, basic metals, compressed natural gas (CNG), and textiles. PGN ensures a 24/7 supply of natural gas with competitive pricing, contributing to energy security and uninterrupted service delivery.

This strategic collaboration underscores PGN’s commitment to expanding its infrastructure and promoting sustainable energy solutions for industrial growth and environmental preservation.
