PGN Wins Award as the Best Gas Trading Entity in Indonesia

Bogor – The performance and consistency of PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (“PGN”) in managing natural gas trading have yielded positive results at the end of 2023. PGN was awarded the title of Best Gas Trading Entity at the 2023 BPH Migas Awards ceremony on Friday (December 29, 2023).

This accolade was conferred based on evaluation criteria set by BPH Migas, including punctuality in payments and business reporting, compliance with business licensing, contributions, and effective collaboration in fulfilling its role as a business entity in relation to regulators. This recognition underscores PGN's commitment to adhering to governance regulations and maintaining cooperative relationships with its stakeholders.

BPH Migas also recognized PGN as a Supporting Entity for the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) City Gas Network (Jargas). The Government has designated the development of city gas networks as a strategic part of its national agenda to promote natural gas utilization in Indonesia, particularly for the household sector, to reduce the burden of subsidies on the state budget.

“We extend our gratitude to BPH Migas for this recognition. PGN and BPH Migas are collaborative partners working together to facilitate the distribution of natural gas in Indonesia. We hope this partnership continues to strengthen, ensuring reliable commercialization and infrastructure development for natural gas on a national scale,” said Harry Budi Sidharta, PGN's Director of Infrastructure and Technology.

To date, PGN has managed 834,165 household connections (SR) across 73 cities/regencies. The funding sources for the city gas network include Government APBN funds and PGN's internal financing. In 2024, PGN remains committed to fulfilling its government-mandated target of building 2.5 million household connections.

At the same event, PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) and PT Transportasi Gas Indonesia (Transgasindo), PGN's subsidiaries, also received accolades. They secured first and second place in the category of Best Gas Pipeline Transportation Entities.

With this achievement, PGN, as Pertamina's Subholding Gas, aspires to maintain the trust of its stakeholders in its role as the primary provider of natural gas for the nation. PGN also aims to foster mutually beneficial partnerships to enhance its active contribution to improving industrial competitiveness and driving sustainable national economic growth.
