PGN Ensures Safe Distribution of 853 MMSCFD of Natural Gas During the Christmas and New Year Holidays

Jakarta – PT PGN Tbk is committed to maintaining the distribution of 853 MMSCFD of natural gas safely for all customer sectors during the 2024 Christmas and New Year 2025 (Nataru) holiday period. The natural gas will be supplied to households, SMEs, retail, industry, power plants, and transportation.

For compressed natural gas (CNG) distribution through 13 CNG refueling stations (SPBG) and 3 Mobile Refueling Units (MRU), the available volume is 8.2 MMSCFD or 178,000 LSP. To anticipate any supply disruptions, PGN is utilizing ex-LNG gas from the FSRU Lampung and supporting it with Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a backup supply.

“All facilities under the Pertamina Gas Subholding are in normal and secure condition, and will continue to be maintained during the holiday period to ensure the uninterrupted distribution of gas to customers. The Nataru task force is on standby, with personnel, asset security, and infrastructure safety measures in place,” said PGN's Corporate Secretary, Fajriyah Usman, on December 24, 2024.

“Monitoring and patrols of the natural gas network are carried out in real-time through the SCADA system,” Fajriyah added.

The Nataru task force has also tightened the security of gas distribution and increased vigilance to prevent incidents. Throughout their duties, the Nataru task force in 2024 will prioritize HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environment) aspects. PGN is also collaborating with the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to patrol and secure areas with a medium to high risk of incidents.

In case of any gas usage issues or emergencies, the Nataru task force is on call 24/7 and can be contacted at the number 135. The public can also reach out to the nearest Sales Area to expedite the handling of any natural gas usage problems.

Fajriyah emphasized that PGN prioritizes the availability and safety of natural gas distribution during long holiday periods, ensuring that all customers can use natural gas comfortably. The Nataru task force of 2024 is also deployed to support the government’s efforts in maintaining the availability of national energy.
