PGN Respects the Legal Process at KPK, Operational Performance and Gas Service Delivery Uninterrupted

Jakarta – PT PGN Tbk, as Subholding Gas Pertamina, reaffirms its commitment to supporting the rule of law within PGN's operations. Following the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigation into alleged corruption within PGN, the company will respect the ongoing legal process. PGN is also committed to fully supporting and assisting KPK in the fight against corruption in accordance with applicable laws.

“To date, we are closely monitoring the legal process being carried out by KPK regarding these allegations. We ensure that this law enforcement process will not interfere with our operational activities, customer services, or the company’s future business,” said Rachmat Hutama, Corporate Secretary of PGN.

Rachmat continued, PGN is ready to cooperate fully with KPK while upholding the principle of presumption of innocence. The company has established clear protocols for handling legal matters. “Our focus right now is to follow the development of the ongoing law enforcement process at KPK,” he added.

With more than 59 years of experience in building and managing natural gas infrastructure to meet energy needs in Indonesia, PGN operates with systems that are tested and meet global corporate standards. In fulfilling its role, PGN continues to enhance its corporate governance by adhering to the principles of Good Corporate Governance (GCG).

Optimism about performance and operations remains a driving force for PGN to continue serving Indonesia. As of the first quarter of 2024, PGN recorded a net profit attributable to the parent entity of USD 121.1 million. This was derived from revenues of USD 949.3 million and an operating profit of USD 169 million. The EBITDA stood at USD 305.8 million. Natural gas volume distribution in the first quarter of 2024 reached 858 BBTUD, while transmission volume was 1,427 MMSCFD.

In addition to maintaining financial and operational performance, 2024 also marks an important milestone for PGN in LNG services for the domestic market to ensure the reliability and stability of supply demanded by customers in meeting the growing energy needs. “PGN has now entered a new era with LNG services for the sustainability of domestic natural gas. In May 2024, PGN will receive additional gas supply from LNG regasification. The interest is quite strong, with an initial absorption of around 15 BBTUD, which will continue to increase according to market demand. This service is one of the most feasible solutions to maintain supply reliability and strengthen integration to serve all customer sectors,” concluded Rachmat.
